Trent Green

Former NFL quarterback Trent Green joined CBS Sports as a game analyst for the CBS Television Network’s coverage of THE NFL ON CBS in April 2014.
Green teams with Kevin Harlan and Melanie Collins, and also contributes across multiple CBS Sports platforms including CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports HQ.

In 2009, after a career in which he quarterbacked for the San Diego Chargers (1993-94), Washington Redskins (1995-98), St. Louis Rams (1999-2000, 2008), Kansas City Chiefs (2001-06) and Miami Dolphins (2007), Green began his broadcast career working as an NFL analyst on regional games on Fox for one season, as well as a studio analyst for the NFL Network’s show, NFL Total Access. He also worked on Thursday Night Football NFL radio broadcasts on Westwood One Radio Sports, as well as Kansas City Chiefs preseason broadcasts.

Green’s playing career was highlighted by his contributions to his hometown Rams’ victory in Super Bowl XXXIV over the Tennessee Titans, and with the Chiefs when he became only the fourth quarterback, at the time, to throw for more than 4,000 yards in three consecutive seasons (Dan Fouts, Peyton Manning and Dan Marino). Also during his time in Kansas City, Green twice led the Chiefs into the playoffs and played in two Pro Bowls. He finished his career passing for 28,475 yards and 162 touchdowns, while compiling a quarterback rating of 86.0.

Upon graduating from Indiana University with a business degree, Green was drafted in the eighth round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers.

Ben Randall is a development architect for IBM Fusion. Ben has worked in the storage industry for over two decades, focusing on areas such as disaster recovery, application backup, SAN storage, orchestration, and monitoring. Ben’s current areas of focus is building application platforms for AI, VM, and containerized workloads.

Mike Savage – Chief Architect, Ecosystem, Red Hat

Mike Savage has been involved in Red Hat Channel/Ecosystem sales for well over a decade, beginning in 2012 with SYNNEX Corporation as the first Red Hat-funded solutions architect in Red Hat Channel distribution. As a Red Hat Senior Solutions Engineer at SYNNEX, Mike quickly learned the inner machinations of the Red Hat Channel Sales ecosystem inside and out. Transitioning to a direct Red Hat employee in 2018, he started as the sole Cloud Specialist SA for the North America Commercial MidMarket segment, followed by a move to the Red Hat Partner Technical Development team as a Senior Solutions Architect, where he earned multiple awards for his technical acumen and fanatical approach in enabling his Red Hat Channel reseller partners; FY20 Partner SA Rockstar followed by PY20 Partner Development SA of the Year. Shortly after achieving Principal Solutions Architect, Mike moved into the role of Chief Architect, North America Ecosystem Solutions Architecture.

In addition to his red fedora, Mike has worn just about every hat over the course of his 30+ year career; sysadmin, developer, DBA, quality engineer, data center architect, as well as serving as a production SaaS Site Reliability Engineer utilizing DevOps practices before the terms even existed. He has been a champion of the utilization of Red Hat and open source technologies within enterprise IT dating back to the late 90s, a movement that continues to unfold to this day…

Some of Mike’s recent notable contributions to Red Hat include:

  • authoring an internal subscription debrief for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform on IBM POWER Systems, with collaboration from the IBM PowerVM Architecture & Development team
  • his ongoing participation as a contributor to the upstream Ansible workshop provisioner project
  • co-authoring a workshop utilizing Infrastructure as Code patterns for Ansible Automation Platform with Red Hat Satellite, since shepherding the workshop into Red Hat Product Demo System
  • currently serving as a community manager for the RHEL Ecosystem Community of Practice
  • co-authoring the Red Hat Infrastructure Standard Adoption Model, a GitOps based methodology for deploying and operating workloads across Red Hat Enterprise Linux Infrastructure
  • co-authoring the Azure Red Hat Enterprise Linux landing zone accelerator, an open-source collection of reference implementation recommendations for deploying and operating Red Hat Enterprise Linux workloads while adhering to Microsoft Azure Cloud Adoption Framework architectural guidance

 

Mike cut his teeth on SunOS while attending North Carolina State University in the early 1990’s, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, as well as first being exposed to a newly introduced Linux distribution: Red Hat Commercial Linux.
